MADRASSA TAHFIDHUL QUR’AN, MALINDI – KENYA.

INTRODUCTION:

The Madrassa Tahfidhul Qur’an of Malindi, Kenya started in 1978 under the Management of Jamiyatu Taalimil Qur’an, which had its main Office in Mombasa. In 1995 they handover the Madrassa management to Tawfiq Muslim Youth Organisation of Malindi, Kenya. It is situated around 3Kms south of Malindi town on two Plots numbers M4/123 and M4/124.

THE MADRASSA.

When Tawfiq Muslim Youth took over the Madrassa it was running with 60 students who were all boarders and it was totally dependable on well wishers donations. Each student requires between 3 to 31/2 years completing memorizing the Holy Qur’an, with the admission age between 8 to 9 years old. Besides memorizing the Holy Qur’an the students are taught Arabic Language, Sera and Fik-hi.

Currently we reduced the intake number to 50 and also introduced sponsorship programmed for each student where a student is sponsored for KShs. 2,000/= (USD 20) a month or KShs 24,000/= (USD 240) annually.

The Madrassa has three teaching staff, a Cook, a Gardener and a Watchman. The Madrassa also consists of the following facilities:-

-Mosque

-4 Classrooms.

-2 Dormitories

-3 Teachers Flats

-Kitchen

-Dining Hall and

-8 Rental Flats.

 

The students who completed their memorization normal they continue with their education in other Islamic Schools where they continue with Islamic and secular studies.

BURSARY AND MEDICAL SUPPORT
Al Hamdulillah during this period the Organisation spent over USD 95,000 on bursaries, medical assistance and other social support activities to over 70 needy students.
